Maandagoggend het ons almal die sosiale media posts gesien oor wat in Brackenfell gebeur het. Die woede en frustrasies van die ouers oor die EFF wat voor hulle kinders se skool demonstreer, klippe gooi en choas veroorsaak. Wie kan die ouers blameer? Jou kind sit in daardie skool en is besig om eksamen te skryf en nou is daar choas oor 'n privaat matriekpartytjie. Die Wes-Kaapse Onderwysdepartement en die DA het die volgende gesê oor die choas by Brackenfell.

Provincial Education Minister Debbie Schäfer said, "The EFF knows full well that this kind of confrontation will disrupt learning and cause unnecessary distress to our learners." "To deliberately instigate this kind of confrontation clearly demonstrates that the EFF has little concern for the welfare of learners.” “It is yet another attempt by them to sow further division with populist antics.” DA Provincial Leader Bonginkosi Madikizela said that the EFF have once again overstepped their boundaries by insisting that the Brackenfell High School principal be fired over a private party hosted by his students that was allegedly only attended by white guests. "The DA condemns in the strongest terms the ongoing threatening attempts by the EFF to bend society to its will by interfering where it has absolutely no business to be,” he said.  “Private events have absolutely nothing to do with any political party, and it was an outrage that the EFF believed they could arrive to protest outside the school and threaten parents and learners during the matric exam period (or at any other time),” said Madikizela.
